We are proud to share that our President and CEO Kenneth Orgeron was recently honored as a finalist for the Credit Union Times Luminaries Award for his Credit Union Executive Leadership. Mr. Orgeron has led the credit union as CEO for three years, and has served in the credit union industry for more than 30 years.
Under Mr. Orgeron’s leadership, Andrews Federal Credit Union has developed and implemented an effective long-term growth strategy, deepened community and military relationships, and further strengthened its financial foundation.
Under Mr. Orgeron’s leadership, the credit union has:
- Developed new Share Certificate products that lead the market
- Offered mortgages with some of the lowest rates in the area, so it is possible for members to achieve their homeownership dreams
- Enhanced digital banking capabilities, so that it is easier for credit union members to choose Andrews Federal as their primary financial institution
- Built stronger connections to members through social media and building relationships, which led to industry award recognition for the credit union’s LinkedIn efforts
- Created new product offerings specifically in response to military needs, including developing a utility relief loan and grant assistance to support military members affected by Ukraine conflict-related utility costs
Two numbers from a recent study by trade association group America’s Credit Unions specifically speak to the way Mr. Orgeron’s strategic leadership has benefited members:
- Andrews Federal households save, on average, $270 annually compared to those who choose other financial institutions
- Households that highly utilize Andrews Federal products and services save even more, with those households benefiting by an average of $1,372 annually
These numbers include various different ways credit union members achieve savings - from higher dividends on deposits, lower rates on loans, and more rewards and value-added services.
While both numbers are impressive, the second number speaks clearly to the member-focused culture Ken has fostered at the credit union. He has ensured the credit union is doing exactly what it is designed to do - creating a strong environment for serving members and ensuring they reach their financial goals.
The credit union has achieved tremendous success and stayed steady and solid for its members. Under Mr. Orgeron’s guidance, Andrews Federal has proven it is possible to successfully navigate an uncertain financial environment while maintaining a focused commitment on members’ needs.
While being recognized at the Luminaries event, Mr. Orgeron was quick to give praise and credit to the Andrews Federal team and to honor their work that continues to make the credit union an exceptional resource for members and the community.
