How to Fund Your Share Certificate

Need to transfer money to fund a new Share Certificate? Here's how.
  • Important funding information for online account opening
  • Your new Share Certificate must be funded within 10 calendar days after online account opening

Important Information!

When you open a new Share Certificate online at Andrews Federal and are not a current member, you must open your base Share Savings account with your new Share Certificate. During the online account opening process, you will open the Share Certificate with a $0 deposit, and then fund the share certificate within 10 calendar days.

How to fund your Share Certificate

Important Information about Funding Your New Share Certificate Online

During the online account opening process, your new Share Certificate will be opened with a $0 balance. You will then have up to 10 calendar days from the online account open date during which to fund your new Share Certificate, using one of the following funding methods.  

Step 1 

Transfer funds into Andrews Federal:
  • Initiate a Wire Transfer or request an Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfer from your external financial institution
  • Mail a check to Andrews Federal
  • Visit one of our branch locations to deposit funds
  • Deposit funds via the Shared Branch Network

Step 2

After the funds have been deposited into your savings or checking account, contact us through one of these channels to fund your new Share Certificate:
  • Send us a Secure Message in Digital Banking
  • Call us at (800) 487-5500
  • Or chat with us in Digital Banking

Transfer Options

You can use a Wire Transfer to send deposits quickly to Andrews Federal to fund your new Share Certificate. There are no transfer limits when sending a wire transfer and wires are typically received within 1-2 business days. A wire transfer is a great option when transferring larger deposits.

Use your external financial institution's wire transfer procedures and/or form to wire the money into Andrews Federal. You'll need this information:

  • First and last name on the account
  • ABA/Routing number: 255074111
  • Type of account (either Checking or Savings)
  • Your account number
  • Our address is 5711 Allentown Road, Suitland, MD 20746

*There is an incoming wire fee of $15 per wire.

Mailing a check may also be a great option to transfer money to fund your Share Certificate. Send your check with “Share Certificate” written in the Memo line, along with the certificate term (for example, 12 months) to Andrews Federal Credit Union, ATTN: Payment Systems, P.O. Box 3000, Clinton, MD, 20735-6001.

If you don’t live near an Andrews Federal branch, visit a Shared Branch to deposit money to your Andrews Federal Savings or Checking Account or wire money from another financial institution. When sending money, your shared branch may request the following information:

  • First and last name on the account
  • ABA/Routing number: 255074111
  • Type of account (either Checking or Savings)
  • Your account number
  • Our address is 5711 Allentown Road, Suitland, MD 20746

Log in to Digital Banking and go to Main Menu/Card Services, then Card Management, and select the image of your card, then toggle the Enable/Disable Card option.

If you received a notification in regards to a failed login attempt (invalid password) that was not instituted by you, we recommend that you immediately change your username and change your password.

Log in to Digital Banking and go to 'Card Services', then 'Card Management', and select Enable/Disable Card.
